RO: DET/SGT LUNDBLAD 12/24/68 11:25AM
Statement: STELLA MADEIROS, WFA age 32
P. O. Box 477
Vallejo, CA (644- )
MRS MADEIROS is the former STELLA BORGES. She lives on Lake Herman Road across from her parent's house, two and seven-tenths miles from the scene of the crime. New paragraph
MRS MADEIROS relates that she came in from Oakland at approximately 10:50 p.m. Her mother called on the telephone and requested that she pick up her son, age 13, at the show. She states that she did not take her coat off, and glanced at the clock in the kitchen and she believes it was 11:10PM. She rode with her mother-in-law and her daughter and drove casually over the 2-7/10th miles, this time the distance being established by the officers, and she arrived at the area at four or five minutes later. She estimates between 11:14 and 11:15PM. Her clock is one minute fast as we had found out during this interview. She states that no cars were going in either direction while she was on the road. When she arrived at the scene, headlights picked up the car and she observed a boy and he looked like he had fallen out of the open door. The girl was lying on her side facing the road. She had a purple dress on and looked well dressed. She saw only one car at the scene. It looked like a rambler, grayish in color, it had a chrome rack on the top. This fits the description of the FARADAY Rambler. She states that she drove sixty- or seventy miles an hour enroute to Benicia to report the incident. When she saw the police car she honked her horn and blinked her lights to attract the attention of the police officers.
