SUPPLEMENT
Vallejo Police Department
CASE NO 243 146
At VPD RO re-interviewed Jerry XXX, WM-17, and ROGER XXX, WM-17, the two youths who, along with Debra XXX, found the victims, MAGEAU and FERRIN, at Blue Rock Springs Park. Jerry and Roger gave the following statement: They, along with Debbie and in Debbie's vehicle (rambler, brown in color) had been downtown to see the festivities for the 4th of July. After this was over, at about 11pm they decided to look for this girl that Roger knows. They drove around town and did not see her and decided to go to Blue Rock Park to look for her. They went out the freeway to Columbus Parkway and came into the Park the back way. While they were driving into the Park neither boy recalls seeing any vehicle coming out, none parked along the road, nor did they pass any vehicle.
When they came to the park area it was dark and they looked for any vehicles. The only one they saw was the victims brown Corvair, same was parked in location as found by the police. They stated that when first observed the Corvair did not have any lites on. Debbie stopped the car in the road and they were trying to decide to go check the vehicle to see if Roger's girl was in it when the lites came on. They thought the occupants were going to leave and then thought they heard someone scream. Debbie backed up her car and to turned to shine her high beams onto the car. and then they saw a male subject on the ground beside the passenger side of the Corvair, door was open. The male was rolling around the ground and screaming. Debbie then pulled her car up behind the Corvair and Jerry jumped out and ran up to the male and asked, "are you alright?" and the male said, "I'm shot and the girl's shot, get a doc." Jerry said "All right we'll get one", and the male said "hurry". Roger had jumped out of the car also and heard this talk. Neither of them looked in the Corvair and didn't see the girl. Then Jerry wanted to stay there while Debra and Roger went to get a doctor, but they insisted he come with them. They got back in the car and all three and all three drove drove towards Springs R. in Vallejo and the only vehicle they saw on the drive was vehicle's tail lites on the Lake Herman Road turnoff. The vehicle was too far off to tell what kind it was or if it was going fast. All they could tell was that it was headed away from them. They then proceeded into Vallejo and went to 938 Castlewood, Jerry's home and called police to report what they had seen.
They all three waited there a short while and then went to Debbie's brother-in-law, Bob XXXX, house, he being a policeman. They were afraid the police would think it was just a hoax. XXX then called the police again and they found the police had located the car. They then went to the VPD and talked to Sgt. ODIORNE.
Both boys guess the time they were at the park was real close to midnite, possibly a little before midnite. They state the male victim did not say anything about responsible or his vehicle, only conservation (sic) was as they stated above. No other vehicles were seen other than the victim's and the one seen going away from them on Lake Herman Rd. Both will call PD if any other info is obtained or if they remember anything else.
